During the weekend of October 8, 2005 the New Mexico Townspeople held their Halloween House Hop and at the same time hosted the Rocky Mountain Village 56ers collectors club. The Townspeople have some serious Halloween collectors. Club members Cassandra, Janet and Debbie put on quite a show. Ken is an avid Dickens' fan and is also the display artist for Lorrie's Gifts & Collectibles. We were also able to see Kay's Snoopy room and Halloween Displays. If this wasn't enough, the International Balloon Fiesta was also being held in Albuquerque. I was fortunate to be in the area for these events and would like to share some photos. Enjoy the above links, Dave

Helpful Hints For Submitting Photos

The "dept56 Yahoo Group" photo album space frequently fills up. We are going to try using some of the Minnesota 56 Club's web space to help with the pressure. (Feel free to continue using the dept56 yahoo group photo album space if you like.) The link to this page can be found on your Yahoo Groups home page.

If you would like to have an album created, send your photos to: david56er@aol.com If you have your own web album, send me a link and I can add it to this list.

Digital Camera Photos: I will make every attempt to produce the best quality photos in these albums. Album quality will always depend on the quality of the photos as I receive them. Ideally, it would be nice to get the photos straight from the camera with minimal compression and no resizing. When quality and resolution permits, I will make the photos 640 pixels wide to make for nicer viewing.

Scanned Photos: Photos scanned at 100 or 200 dpi and saved once with minimal compression (best quality jpg) will work just fine.

Text: We can add text to the thumbnail page describing your album. We can also add a brief description to each photo to the individual photo pages. Adding text will be more time consuming and will be done as time permits.

Each time a jpg file is opened and resaved the quality is reduced.

You can have more than one album. For instances, we can create one album for your Dickens' Village and one for your Snow Village. It is possible to add photos to an album although this is not desirable. If possible, try and send a complete set for each album.

Above you will see a couple of sample web albums. To view the album, you will need to open and album link and then click on one of the thumbnails. I may use a bit different album format in the future. It will have the previous, next and home links on the side of the screen.

Finally, these web albums should open in their own browser window. When you are done with an album, close the browser window and you should be back at the is web page.

Unless otherwise stated, these photos are the property of person submitting them. Please ask permission before using them.
